The Kiss (You Shouldn't Kiss Me Like This)

Mac O'Roni

I got a funny feeling
The moment that your lips touched mine.
Somethin’ shot right through me.
My heart skipped a beat in time.

Logan had never been kissed like that before. The least important difference was that he’d never been kissed by a man. What did matter was that he’d never felt such utter, impulsive abandon or such fire. Remy’s mouth was hot and wet and crackling with biokinetic power and by God, he tasted as good as a meal.

There’s a different feelin’ about you tonight.
It’s got me thinkin’ lots of crazy things.
I even think I saw a flash of light.
It felt like electricity.

He pulled back—just a little, and his grip around the young man’s slender waist never faltered for a moment—and looked up into those devil’s eyes in surprise. Remy’s eyes danced with fiery hues of mischief, desire, and uncertainty.
“J’u kin’a like dat, too, mon ami?” he asked, full lips curving into an impish grin.
Instead of answering, Logan pulled the Cajun into a tighter embrace and kissed him again.

You shouldn’t kiss me like this
‘Less you mean it like that,
‘Cause I’ll just close my eyes
And I won’t know where I’m at.
And we’ll get lost on this dance floor,
Spinnin’ around
And around and around and around.

Gambit melted into it, letting himself be swirled away on the floor by the kiss and by the man kissing him. It was kind of nice, not having to be the powerful one, not having to lead, not having to be in complete control. He didn’t know if he could stand letting himself go like this very often, but it was nice for now.

They’re all watching us now.
They think we’re falling in love.
They’d never believe we’re just friends.
When you kiss me like this,
I think you mean it like that.
And if you do, baby, kiss me again.

Logan was in a fine state. Some part of his mind was aware that they must have cut a ridiculous figure—two men dancing, a short, fuzzy little Tasmanian devil of a man stretching up to kiss a tall, elegant young creature towering nearly a foot over his head. The rest of his mind, simply didn’t care.

Everybody swears
We make the perfect pair,
But dancing is as far as it goes.
Oh, you never moved me
Quite the way you move me tonight…
I just wanted you to know.

“Yeah, kid,” he said at last. “I did kin’a like that, too.”

I just wanted you to know.

Another long kiss, again initiated by the Cajun as though they were to take it in turns, kissing and being kissed, leading and being led.

You shouldn’t kiss me like this
‘Less you mean it like that,
‘Cause I’ll just close my eyes
And I won’t know where I’m at.

     “Me too, cher,” Remy said.

And we’ll get lost on this dance floor,
Spinnin’ around
And around and around and around.

“Let’s get out of here and go back to my place, Sexy,” Logan quipped.

They’re all watching us now.
They think we’re falling in love.
They’d never believe we’re just friends.
When you kiss me like this,
I think you mean it like that.
And if you do, baby, kiss me again.

     “Sure.”

Kiss me again…
